One place to help parents find high-quality educational materials is EDSITEment. Not only does this website offer resource material in nearly all subject areas (Literature, Language Arts, History, Social Studies, Foreign Language, Art and Culture, etc.), but it caters to educators, parents, and students.
EDSITEment contains links to online lesson plans and other resources, and it also contains over 200 of the top Humanities websites that have been deemed as "high intellectual quality." In fact, all the websites linked to EDSITEment have been thoroughly reviewed for their content, design, and educational impact. This makes the site not only a valuable learning resource but one in which there is no need to worry about what the kids are viewing. Although there is an emphasis on grade levels 9-12, EDSITEment provides numerous lesson plans and educational resources for grades K-8 as well.
EDSITEment was also selected as one of five finalists in the Education and Academia category of a Computerized Smithsonian Award for Innovation Network and it received an award for “Top Humanities Websites.”

EDSITEment received a B+ from Education World, noting, “This is a specialized site that would be a good resource for Humanities teachers and students.”
http://www.education-world.com
If that were not enough, former President Bill Clinton had this to say about EDSITEment; “This exciting new tool will help teachers, students, and their parents to navigate among the thousands of educational websites, and there are literally thousands of them now. Most importantly, it will expand our children’s horizons and instill in them an early appreciation of the culture and values that will be with them throughout their lives.” http://lanic.utexas.edu
In an article from E-school News, EDSITEment was said to have lesson plans that are “designed with enough flexibility to be replicated in a variety of grade levels.” https://www.eschoolnews.com
Since all material and links have been carefully judged for their quality and effectiveness to learning, EDSITEment earns a 5 for Effectiveness. The website is extremely user friendly; however, it’s geared toward the older child, earning the site a Usability rating of 4. All resources are free to use and many can be downloaded or printed. This, of course, makes its Price/Value a definite 5. EDSITEment is definitely a worthwhile educational site for parents and students alike. You’re certain to find something that fits into any curriculum here.
